From 16–17 June 2025, Lea Rocholl represented Bax Innovation at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Hamburg, Germany. As one of the world’s foremost events for sustainable mobility, the summit united over 10,000 professionals from over 100 countries, including public transport operators, city authorities, industry innovators, and policymakers. All these individuals were united by one mission: to shape the future of urban mobility!
A key insight for GREENMO: Mobility Hubs in Action!
A particularly relevant takeaway for the GREENMO project was the opportunity to learn more about Hamburg’s forward-thinking multimodal mobility platform, HVV Switch. With over 220 physical hubs distributed across the city and a unified digital app, HVV Switch enables the seamless integration of public transport, car sharing, e-scooters, bike sharing, and more.
The platform demonstrates how smart physical infrastructure combined with digital tools can deliver convenient, flexible, and user-centric mobility options. By simplifying the connection between different transport modes, Hamburg is actively demonstrating what it means to work towards the “5-minute city” vision, where access to sustainable mobility options is always just a few minutes away.
As cities across Europe seek scalable solutions to first/last-mile challenges and integrated mobility, the HVV Switch platform offers a compelling example for the GREENMO project and other innovation-driven initiatives.
